How to: 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗸 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 👩🏾💻
▫️Determine how you use your space
List the job tasks you perform here then number them based on importance. I use my space for PhD work, content creation, gaming, and for cosmetics (nails, hair, and rarely make-up).
▫️Group similar items together
If you have LOADS of things on your desk and never know where anything is make little groups of similar items and place them in specific easily accessible places. I like to keep my desk as minimal as possible so the majority of items I need are in the trolley behind my desk or on my shelves above my desk! This way they are out of the way but super easy for me to grab my notes.
▫️Group and separate items associated with each job/ task
Kind of similar to the above, basically if you use your desk for work, editing, and gaming. Group all your work stuff together, all editing equipment/papers together, and all gaming stuff together.
▫️Throw unnecessary things in the bin!
Ask yourself: “Do I need to keep this? If so, how often do I use this? If not, why?” The more things the more cluttered your mind might feel.
